Foundation Work Begins
Work has finally begun on the foundation. I didn't know, but the basement is segmented into at least two elevations, about 1-1.5 feet difference in elevation from the garage to the downstairs. With the weather starting to look like typical Washington weather, I hope that the project accelerates. And that it doesn't rain much the next few weeks.
I am still being blamed for rats. And my other neighbor thinks that I am undercutting his property (whick I am not). Smile and nod!

Old House finally goes down
The house was slated to go down on Wednesday, but it took a bit of time to get the tree stump ground down and the cat lubed up for demolition. Friday morning was fun - I took video (which I might post a snipit of soon) and a few pictures. It went really quick - probably 1.5 hours for the house.
Alex (the smasher) and Jesus, his brother did a very good job - Fran, the next door neighbor, stood with me and watched as Alex carefully pulled my house away from his (I say about a couple feet of clearance with the rubble). Finally, something tangible is done!

The After Pictures
These are the 'After' pictures when we got done playing with the house. As you can see, there is not much left to tear down on Wednesday. This blog will serve as a record of what occurs during construction of my first house. More to come.
